BarryKeymasterThanks for reporting back.
Just released another set of NostalgiTone “Singles” today.
- Compressor
- Dumbletone
- Preamp Boost
BarryKeymasterYes, different results with different search engines for sure.
BarryKeymasterI think this is very interesting in many different ways depending how you wish to use it.
BarryKeymasterPlease provide clear closeup pictures of the component side and solder side, particularly the Boost section.
BarryKeymasterI recommend posting your video on YouTube and sharing the link here.
Also, please upload clear pictures of everything, since you’ve encountered the same build issue twice, it likely points to using the same bad component or component value. The PCB itself is not the issue.
There is a customer build review here: https://guitarpcb.com/community/topic/beano-bundle-completed/
BarryKeymasterThe Legacy PCBs do not have an extra set of IN/OUTs to make that possible. So for using Legacy PCBs you will need to use the Legacy Easy Order switching PCBs to accomplish that.
BarryKeymasterUnfortunately, there’s no easy way to make the 60’s Tremolo Single work with the Dual Combo Creator as it’s currently designed. I can’t think of any adaptation that would make it compatible either.
To make it work, I’d need to design a separate Dual Combo Creator with a specific 8-pin side or redesign the Tremolo circuit, which would mean losing the pulsing rate LED.
That said, it performs exceptionally well in both the Triple Combo and Singles format.
BarryKeymasterIt’s a good idea to fully build and test the PCB first to avoid any issues that can’t be fixed later due to misunderstandings.

BarryKeymasterAwesome build and thanks for sharing.
Glad your digging the extra functionality of the order switching. Makes it twice as good.
BarryKeymasterCouple of Steve’s, getting it done with the Metal Godz.
BarryKeymasterThe standard Ratt as it is allows a lot of bass which is why it is commonly used for Doom.
If you are wanting to mod it for bass guitar I would highly suggest using a Buff N Blend.
BarryKeymasterAwesome! There is a lot of good building to do.
I sense a Hendrix Dual Combo.
BarryKeymasterThe hFE range varies due to tolerance.
You can see in the datasheet that the expected ranges for BC108C are between 420 and 800 hFE.

I am not sure you would hear a difference between 400 and 720 but if you socket you can experiment.
Dunlop Fuzz Face pedals range from several hundred hFE to over 1000 hFE in the same round, red pedal.
As for the DSOTM I really do not believe the difference between 440 and 720 matters but you can socket, experiment, and decide.
BarryKeymasterNice to see you are getting them done. Not much left to do either.
BarryKeymasterThere is no protection on the back of the pots and since you hand wired pots they can easily make contact with the solder side of the PCB.

I would also suggest re-flowing solder that is balled up. Even if it is working now it could cause an issue down the road.

Also with the Jack on the left, the Tip seems close to the enclosure so that when you insert a plug it might be too close and grounding? Hard to say for sure from the photo but you can simply rotate the Jack a little to avoid that. Additionally I am not seeing a good solder joint on the ground wire connection to the Sleeve lug. You will want to scan all of your off board wiring.

BarryKeymasterUse 10R if you have it.
100R otherwise, or anything in between.
Gold is hard to represent as a color. My gold and the resistor calculator gold are actually the same color.
That is why there is a 10R typed on the resistor image.
