Bought a handful of Nostalgitone singles and combo creators in hopes of making some combo pedals as xmas gifts for a few friends.  I got a couple of the 60s Tremolo singles and now realizing that those are 8 pins at the bottom instead of 6 like the rest, and I’m wondering if that means they’re incompatible with the combo creator PCB.  I really liked the idea of using it for the order switcher.

AFAIK the extra two spaces are connected to the buffer, so that the circuit as it stands isn’t true bypass. There may or may not be an option to defeat the buffer to use the combo creator as is (for which option it’s probably wisest to wait for someone more in the know to chime in) or you could use the little 3PDT order switch board.

I’m in the same boat with the G2 Animal/Supersonic combo in the works but don’t want to hijack your thread meanwhile. Trusting someone will advise us in due course.

Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to make the 60’s Tremolo Single work with the Dual Combo Creator as it’s currently designed. I can’t think of any adaptation that would make it compatible either.

To make it work, I’d need to design a separate Dual Combo Creator with a specific 8-pin side or redesign the Tremolo circuit, which would mean losing the pulsing rate LED.

That said, it performs exceptionally well in both the Triple Combo and Singles format.

Thanks, Barry. I’m going to post my (similar) problem in a clean thread.
