Also, I notice no protection on the back of this potentiometer to keep it from contacting the solder on the back of the main board. 2 others are hidden so I cannot say for them.

    Yes, that works nicely.

I used an incorrect term previously.

I meant to say Insert and not Send Return.

The Jacks are required at Insert.

Excellent application of the Buff N Blend and great video.

You will need to turn the LED so the cathode is using the non-white pad. The white pad is for Bi-color.

This guide is located on the Guides Page in case you need other help.

One thing not apparent in the photos is what type of Send Return Jacks are you using.

They must be this type (note the Tip on this jack):

is the OTHER pad that is directly adjacent to the one marked [T] intended for GND?

Yes, it is ground. You can test any pads by using your DMM in continuity mode.

Also, the reason for power sharing indicated by the group pads is for building combos in a single enclosure either in a pedal or a rack. For example, this rack contains all GuitarPCB circuits. Power sharing makes for easy, tidy, and secure wiring of not only the main circuit board but any mod boards, LEDs, Meters, or other add-ons located inside the same enclosure or Rack unit.

To find out more about combo builds, and power sharing there are guides on the Guides Page.

    • Check transistor voltages.
    • Verify resistor values.
    • Reflow.
    • verify correct transistor per location

An Audio Probe is a fantastic tool to easily locate a problem area. See Guides Page.

Side note: I suggest pushing the wire through the PCB pad until the PVC is flush with the PCB and then soldering from the opposite side. This will prevent issues down the road with wires breaking off as well.

There is nothing wrong with using the 2N5457 at all.

You can trust every transistor, FET, IC, etc that I sell in my shop (When in stock).

C1 and perhaps C5 are the only things blocking it up for Bass. 220n and Bob’s your uncle.

How do you like the sounds?

Great! We all make mistakes all the time. I cringe when people post about how many pedals they built correctly before telling us the symptoms. I have built probably 2,500 pedals and I still make mistakes.

So more importantly now how does it sound?

You can also use your DMM in Continuity mode to check that all the relevant points work as shown in the image below as well as any on board pads that might need verified.

There is no way for me to trace the wiring.

If you have made an audio probe you should make short work of the issue.
