All of that aside, or pretending that you used a BB2 enclosure, how does it all sound?

Excellent and thanks for posting. I am not sure people realize there is plenty of Oomph to give you some unique cleaner style tones particularly with single coil or P90 pickups.

I agree there are several dull flat solder joints in exactly that location. This could also explain not getting continuity. I would suggest a reflow and have some extra solder on hand for when it is needed but be very careful with repeatedly pulling back the pot to get at them. You will likely want to reflow the pot lugs when you are done as well.

And yes better pics so we can see the top of the board well.

Thanks for sharing and yes the BB2 enclosure is mandatory.

There are (2) common GND pads at the GND location. The other GND pad is connected to your power jack. I am not sure what you mean otherwise.

You will need to carefully connect both wires to one location. All ground locations are connected.

If you happen to be using a 3PDT wiring board you will have have even more GND options as long as it is sharing common ground with the main PCB.

You can take the three capacitors C6, C7, and C8 and reduce them all to 0.68uf for a faster available rate.

The EA Tremolo circuit is quite simple and known for being a smooth Tremolo. If you really want a modern design that goes to extremes, and do it well, I highly suggest the Apollo Tremolo.

Yes, that is how this particular circuit is. What will affect the Taper “feel” is changing the pot from a C Taper to an A Taper however many people prefer the C Taper. It is all subjective.

As for the value of the pot it is exactly the same value as the original circuit. That said you can try an A100K to see if you like the feel of the taper better.

The C Taper is based on JD Sleeps or runoffgrooves modification from many years ago:

You can reverse lugs 1 and 3  of the Speed control by hand wiring them as you mentioned.

For the Trower tone I would combine the PlexAmp “Single” with the Vibe “Single”. If you want even more expandable amp tone you could substitute the PlexAmp for the 70s British “Single” though either would get you there.

That’s awesome and thanks for sharing.

You can get a diverse array of excellent Fuzz tones to mix with the Vibe for some screaming leads or soupy rhythm tones.

That will likely be my next Dual Combo offering.

If it were me I would make sure you have firm contact in those MPSA18 sockets by adding a few tiny bends to each of the leads and reinsert them into the sockets for firm contact.

If that doesn’t help I would try exchanging them for new ones if I had them available as well.

The LED must be pulsing and Q1 & Q2 are right there.

Also be careful bending the pots back to reflow too many times or you will need to reflow those as well. They can also break from stress eventually.

Feel free to jump in if you have any thoughts.

It occurred to me based on what you told me above it could be a CACHE issue with your browser.

So one way to check that is when you receive the CHECK screen try refreshing and see what happens.

If it works then it is a cache issue: Clear your browser cache.

If it doesn’t work I would still clear your browser cache and try again.

Again it could also be as I mentioned before that browser extensions, such as VPNs, ad blockers, or privacy tools, might interfere with the verification process.

Let me know what you find out.
