Thanks Barry! For some reason I stopped designing artwork abiut two years ago so I’ve got bunches of naked pedals. This was just what I needed to get moving again. Cheers.

You’re the best. Thank you. This is currently my favorite pedal until the 80s Brit gets paired with a boost. Coming soon.

How do you like the AB? I have one wired up but haven’t ever heard it.

Unfortunately, you cannot measure a component while its installed. Judge them by their color bands and match them to a chart.

Thank you. I have several TTs just waiting for the right project. This one was just a fun compact project. I’ve built several GBOF projects, but not the EQ. I’ll see how it goes and report back. Thanks all!

Awesome. Two of my favorites. My very first pedal build ever was the older DSOTM. I’ve learned so much I’d kind of like to do it again. And my Muff’n is absolutely stellar. Same Rams build and modded up and down.

Thanks Barry unfortunately this one isn’t mine. My buddy owns the RTO and asked me if I could mod it to have a blend knob. I’m so close.

I got over Metallica haters back when the Black Album came out. I’m not a fan of every one of their albums, but they are far and away my favorite band ever. Even the stuff I don’t love grows on me eventually. And their first 5 albums make up for anything they ever do after 1994. Wish I had thought to do this.

Oh man I’m so sorry I missed this! I would really love to hear a demo of this pedal. Fantastic artwork- top three albums ever made!

Hi guys- sorry I’m so sporadic. Life, you know?

I swapped out the R15 for a 1.2k and it helped. If its alright, I’d like to ask about the others now. The pedal sounds great (and similar to others in its family) but I’m just trying to tailor it to my rig. Ideally I’d like to be able to “scoop” out a little bit more mids and tighten up the lows. Right now its sitting next to an older SuperPlex and I’m trying to get just a bit closer to that sound. I recognize they’re different, I’m just using that as a reference.

Oh Hi! This fell off my radar as I was teching another build and working on a friends pedal. Thank you Wilkie- I’ll take a look. If that’s not it then I’ll get some well lit pics and we’ll go from there. I appreciate everyone’s time!

Great build! The DSOTM was my very first build ever. Its an amazing fuzz.

I agree with another poster about board mounted pots. Even when it calls for them I tend to hand wire them. Partially because I don’t always want the layout but mostly because the stress of getting the drilling template right is annoying.

Mark several of the production boutique Rat offerings put the Reutz mod pot on the face. I’ve built a few and mounted them as well. And while I like the occasional tonal tweak, overall I haven’t found it to be super useful. Perhaps if some components were adjusted to make the sweep a little wider then it would be more advantageous… Just my thoughts. YMMV.

Hello Barry! Nice to be back. I reset my password right after the big change but seemed to have forgotten it. Been browsing anonymously for the last few months.

Anyhow regarding the above video TWO of my builds are in there! The Enchanted Fuzz is a muff that I tweaked for bass and gave to my boss, also a huge Monty Python fan. The other is the Insanity Fuzz, the former Hot Chilicon, now Sriracha Fuzz, completed with Simpson’s artwork from the fantastic Guatemalan Insanity Pepper episode. I had that one up for sale just to thin my own herd, but recently played it and decided to keep it!

Barry does this a lot with clipping diode markings- if you look at it, one option is for LEDs, with the flat side of the bulb lining up with the drawing. If you chose a BAT41s or a 34, you’d match the line on the diode with the line on the PCB. Very clever.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you’re trying to find a good R value, couldn’t you wire in a pot and test it until it squeals and then back it off and measure it? Or am I overthinking this?
