That did it. This is not my favorite build aesthetically. It sounds great, but I’ve been plagued with problems on my end and have rehoused this several times over several years. It’s ugly inside. Hopefully my buddy likes it and never needs to open it. I’ll post it in the other thread tonight.

Copy. Sorry I missed that in the drawing. I’ll do that tonight and finally be done with this one. Thank you. Normally I’d just dump my daughter board and rewire but I didn’t so here I am. My apologies for the goofballery. Hopefully this ends here.

This is so close to done. But I’m not getting my LED from the main board while powered by the daughter board. By my understanding it’s because the grounds aren’t connected to the switch at all. Is there any way to do this short of jumping them from my switch to the S4/S6 pads?

Cheers. I was pretty toasted from finishing up a couple projects and starting on enclosures after midnight. I put the led in the main board but no CLR. I’m sure that was it. When I head down tomorrow I’ll swap it for a fresh one and a resistor and I’m sure it will be fine. And it is part of a combo. It’s a Plexi Plus and a Stage 3, albeit my last S3 with built in switch pads. This poor Plexi has been rehoused numerous times- I’ll tell the story when I finally post its build tale this week.

Awesome! Thanks for the clarification Barry. I have such a huge backlog of GPCB boards that when I go to post my builds they’re occasionally from an era gone by. I’ll make notes of those cap suggestions and play around this weekend when I get a minute.

And to you! 2019 will certainly see me back in the pedal game. I have two in the paint and finish stages now and two more in production. 2018 was a year of transition for me. Now I’m back on track. Looking forward to good things!

Thanks. I never even got to experiment with other diodes. Normally I’d be all over that. But the sudden time crunch got the best of me. This is also the first “completed” build (labled and finished) ive done since about January. Moving really took a lot out of my abilities. I’ve been set up for a little while but just haven’t been able to get it together. I have one more circuit done that just needs to be printed and finished for the forum here. And a couple others that are… stalled. Too weird to decide what to do next.

I dig it. The roughed up paint scheme is my go to style when I don’t have a graphic I feel like using. Was this a powder coated enclosure or did you paint it and then sand it down? Either way, I like the look. Nice job.

Right on! I’m boxing up a Hot Chili right now. I socketed the two caps on the switch- did you play with them at all or are yours stock?

And I’m super stoked. Thanks! Hopefully between now and the holiday I’ll get to work on that Phybes. It’s a duplicate of another that my buddy’s been bugging me for. Looking forward to more great things from the GPCB shop.

Same. I literally just placed my order for a new Dr. Phybes board with transistors before this announcement. But I’m feeling a bit stagnant lately, so as soon as I finish this build (which is looooong promised for a friend) I’ll be revisiting some new projects. As soon as the 5457s are up let us know!

Aaaaand it looks like I’ll be placing that order sooner than later. I just received my package (thank you Barry- you’re always SUPER quick) but in my haste I accidentally missed an update and only got (1) J113 instead of the (6) I intended on. D’OH!

Killer graphic and layout. So is the FF first into the Black Dog? Those are two circuits I have never played with, though I have several FFs in my bin. Can you tell me about the LED board? Where is that from?

Ha! Looks like it actually did embed properly. I was working in this as I was walking out the door this morning and just now got home to look at it. Apologies for the poor quality, but hey it is what it is. We did kind of goose the guitar channel in the house that night and no one seemed to mind! Gerey has been on me to build him something ever since. We’ll eventually work something out.

Here’s the youtube link. Having trouble embedding the actual video just now. This was shot on my phone from FOH at the finale of the show. I knew he was going to kick it on for his last solo as it was all coming down. This was the last song of the last show of a week long cruise in front of about 1500 fans. one of two packed shows.

I’m getting an error message when I try to insert the clip directly into the post here. It’s about 1:30 long. Is that too much or is it the iPad making this hard? Photos seem to go right in but this video clip keeps failing.

Thanks! And funny story. I do not have a video of me playing this pedal in a controlled demo environment. However right after I made it one of the guys I occasionally tech for needed a distortion on stage and only had an overdrive. I happened to have this with me, he tried it and dug it. So I took a video during the show. I’ll have to dig it off of my laptop but it’s pretty cool.
