    NostalgiTone Panel Contest

I’m kicking off a NostalgiTone Panel Contest and looking forward to seeing what everyone’s been working on.

This one is focused on completed builds using the new aluminum control panels.

    🛠️ How to Enter

    • Post your build in this thread

    • Include at least one clear photo of the completed pedal

    • The panel should be clearly visible

Additional photos (including gut shots) are welcome, but not required.

If you’d like, feel free to include a quick note about what you like about the panel or how it improves the overall look of your build — but no write-up or essay is needed.

    🏆 Prizes

    • 1st Place: $30

    • 2nd Place: $20

    • 3rd Place: $15

    • 2 Honorable Mentions: $8 each

Prizes will be issued as one-time use discount codes for the stated amounts.

    🎯 Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged based on:

    • Overall presentation (how the pedal looks as a finished build, including overall visual balance and component choices such as knob style and color)

    • Build execution (fit, finish, attention to detail)

    • Panel integration (how well the panel complements the build)

Creative touches and additional photos may be taken into consideration.

    📌 Entry Guidelines

    • Up to 2 entries per person

    • One prize per person

    • Entries should be complete, functional builds and clearly presented

Winning entries may be featured on the site or in future emails.

    ⏱️ Contest Period

Entries must be submitted in this thread by [April 17th 2026].

Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

    – Barry

Just finished it up. Spray painted and clear coated the enclosure. It matched pretty well with the face plate. Everyone is asleep so I’ll have to wait to play it in the morning.

These all look fantastic — thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.

I’m going to take a few days to review everything and gather a few additional opinions so I can put together a fair overall ranking.

I’ll post the results shortly after that.

The results are in for the NostalgiTone Panel Contest — thanks to everyone who took the time to enter.

I ended up combining five sets of rankings from different individuals to arrive at the final placements, based on the criteria outlined (overall presentation, build execution, and panel integration).

    Final Results

    🥇 1st Place — Zoso (jmgrabowski)
This one stood out for its overall balance and execution. Clean layout, strong visual cohesion. This took priority over the “2112” build since only one of them could be awarded a prize but was also a fine submission.

    🥈 2nd Place — Phaser (jasonwickersham)
A very strong showing here that clearly resonated across multiple voters.

    🥉 3rd Place — 70’s Triple (Matt)
Probably the most creative entry of the group. The theme was nailed and it definitely had the most visual personality.

    Honorable Mentions

    • DSOTM (Max)
    • BRIT-800 (Tiger1050)

Both of these had solid ideas and execution.

Prizes will be issued as one-time use discount codes as outlined in the original post. CONTACT ME for your PRIZE CODE.

Thanks again to everyone who participated — really appreciate the effort that went into these builds.

Thanks Barry! For some reason I stopped designing artwork abiut two years ago so I’ve got bunches of naked pedals. This was just what I needed to get moving again. Cheers.
