ChuckParticipantWish I could claim this as my personal genius and deep exhaustive research. A few years ago I read a lot of chatter about the London Fuzz. I liked the one audio demo I heard at the time. Initial online research showed the values I used except that C1 was listed at 4.7u with a later correction to the .47u – it’s easier to find the 4.7 schematic. Comparing my pedal with multiple current YouTube demos of the London Fuzz I can say this pedal is different – probably the magic is in the “unidentified metal can” in Q1 and that I bias by ear rather than with a multimeter.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantThanks Barry. I had Q1 and Q2 reversed. Getting the transistors in the right places made finishing up a piece of cake.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantLooks like you need to connect G2 at the top left of the board (I know this because I missed it on my own build).
Chuck
ChuckParticipantI need assistance lifting my jaw up off the floor. Wow!
Chuck
ChuckParticipantFor the Vibe version of this board SW1 is just ignored – no need to jump. I did the 45/90 switch on my Vibe and liked it so I’m planning to pull my Dr Phybes apart to do the same mod on the phaser. Make sure both grounds on the Vibe board are wired.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantThat is a bunch of really nice looking stuff there. I need to up my artwork a bit.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantBarry, if I hadn’t waited three years between populating the board and boxing it that extra ground wouldn’t have been an issue (and I wouldn’t have this big red palm print on my forehead).
It could be the purpose of my life is to serve as a warning to others.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantCybercrow, the box is a Hammond trapezoid from Mouser. It’s a left over from a reboxed build. Had to use JB Weld to fill a couple of inconvenient holes before drilling some more.
Billy, Hot Mess includes my thought process (or lack thereof) and use of a lot of recycled parts. It doesn’t look messy because I’m good at tucking wiring out of sight. I definitely could have added a little more space between the boards – it’s not like I didn’t have much room to play with.
Chuck
ChuckParticipantNice looking build Rob. These can be a lot of fun.
Barry, this may be the first on the “new” forum but I’m certain mine from March 2018 wasn’t the first on the “old” forum.

Chuck
ChuckParticipantUm, based on your previous and following posts here I believe you need to adjust the pathetically short name of this magnificent build.
