While the fuzz I just posted on the show-off board worked great I’m having some issues with this one.  I neglected to note the correct locations for Q1-3 before I installed the sockets – I think I have them close but would like to get confirmation.

Here’s the guts:

My assumption is that Q1 is top center, Q2 is down to the right and Q3 is right below the trimmer – is that correct?  I’ve got two problems with the build right now – one is, I believe, a ground issue which results in some odd space ship/ray gun noises when I’m trying to bias it, and the other is that while it makes some great fat tone bender fuzz the volume is way low.  The nice made in Holland 2N281s shown will probably not be the final transistors in this one without severe leg trimage and careful/artful leaning.

Thanks Barry.  I had Q1 and Q2 reversed.  Getting the transistors in the right places made finishing up a piece of cake.
