I want to use my Paramix for delay tails. Not sure how to do this, I’ve tried a few things and new luck.
What I want to do is have a pedal, say a fuzz, into a delay (that doesn’t have tails switching). I want to be able to click on a quick burst (quick on/off) of the fuzz, then have the short burst fade into delay echoes. For bypass, no fuzz, no delay. Kind of like what dub producers do when they have a quick burst that echoes. How to do?Thanks,
John

You likely skipped right over the answer because it’s the second half of example #1 on page five of the build doc. You will need to have added the kill switch option as explained on the BD. Again welcome.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I do have the kill switch, so that makes this more embarrassing. Just to confirm functionality, I should put the delay in the loop, keep the delay switched on (duh) and then keep the Paramix on (not bypassed). I should get delay on my signal, but when I hit the kill switch I should get the return from the delay but no send?Thank you

Your delay has to be capable of infinite repeats without the original signal being too loud. When the kill switch is engaged it kills the send jack. The II and IO will need continuity through to the summing amp IC1B whether you have an active pedal connected there or not, which of course, you are welcome to do. Basically make repeats and kill the send. The repeats should continue. Keep us in the loop. Ha

Not sure if you remember I posted a while ago (under a different username, had some issues with the site) and I labeled my switches differently and I did a routing diagram on the faceplate. I guess I wasn’t smart enough to follow my own smart idea 🙂
My kill switch is called “Direct Only” and my Diddy is called “Loop Only”

November 14, 2024 at 12:24 am #34328mybudModeratorThe CD4047 is available from Tayda, Mouser, and Digi-Key. Not sure about the N-suffix. Those I’ve ordered from Tayda seem to work fine.
