Hi, I think this is the right sub forum to make this post. I’m going to be making an effect pedal for my cousin who plays bass, and with some extra combo switch boards, I thought I might make him a dual. I was wondering if anybody has some creative suggestions for what to combine. He only has a compressor pedal, so I think he’ll like anything he receives. I got word that he’s into “a lot of metal bands and 80s, Lady Gaga, Queen, Styx, Journey”, but likes anything. I was thinking of pairing the NT Chorus with a Harbinger to give him some dirt as well as modulation for 80s cheese, but I’d really like to hear if others have cooler ideas/better suggestions.
I have already developed (2) unique NostalgiTone PCBs that are perfect for a Dual Bass combo but I have not published them yet though they are verified,
The first one is called the Bass OverThruster which contains Volume, Gain, and a 3 Band Baxandall perfectly dialed in for Bass and has a lot of Headroom.
The other is called The Behemoth and is based on the ZVEX Mammoth Fuzz.
So you get the best of Preamp Drive and Bass Fuzz in one package which is perfect a tone of genres including the ones mentioned.
Again, these are still pending release.
I have built a few special request combo pedals for a bass player. They were for Muse (Hysteria) and Y.O.B (Heavy Doom) sounds. They might not be a good fit but I can pass along the formulas if you’re interested.
