    Hi guys,

    long time lurker here, however my very first post:

    I recently built the excellent Paramix and absolutely love it! Right now I am thinking of a stereo amp setup and using the Paramix for the routing. But as I understand the Paramix can only be used to switch each amp on/off via the “Kill”- and Bypass-Switch and not to switch between them or to have a dedicated “Both”-switch, am I correct here?

    If so, do you have any idea how to configure the Paramix to allow A/B/Y operability?

    <hr />

    Also, in order to avoid a potential grounding loop between the two amps, I plan to implement two isolation transformers into the build, following R.G. Keen´s layout (http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/TransformerSplitter.pdf). However, I am wondering if it makes sense to implement them in the Paramix or rather to put them in a separate box at the end of my signal chain to avoid any ground loop between my effects chain and the two amps.

    Signal flow would look like this:

    I- – – – – > FX Chain 1 -> Amp 1

    Paramix

    I – – – – -> FX Chain 2 -> Amp 2

    Sorry if these are noobish questions but I really couldn´t get my head around it.

    I hope you had some nice Christmas Days! 🙂

    Welcome to the Forum!  The Paramix does a great job of mixing effects in an external loop with a Dry signal.  Although you could take the loop signal  and route it to a second amp, you would only be able to use the “Kill” switch to defeat that signal path.

    You will have more control by using the eloquent A/B/Y splitter circuit you reference from Mr. Keen placed after the Paramix.  I did notice that you need to use isolated output jacks with that circuit to prevent combining the ground of the chassis with the grounds from the transformers.
