GuestHello. Absolute pedal newbie here.
I just finished (at least I had hoped to be finished) my first pedal build. Followed the diagram. However I ran in to an issue. My pedal comes on but I only get sound when it’s engaged. And it’s only bypassed sound which is strange. Not the fuzz effect, which is not working.
Any help would be appreciated. I can take photos if necessary.

GuestI added photos. In them I removed transistors from the jackets so they don’t get messed up while it’s apart.

BarryKeymasterLooks like Ins and Outs are backward.
Looks like you have OKF Out T pad (white) connected to 3PDT wiring board BI pad (which should connect to 3PDT BO pad.)
Then the same deal with the other side probably. Hard to see.
Then your 3PDT wiring board I Pad will connect to TIP of your Input Jack and the O Pad will connect to the Output Jack TIP. Remembering they are reversed when you flip the pedal over to use it.
You have to keep your Ins with your Ins and Outs with Outs.

Personally I would just switch your two white wires (Out T pad & In T pad) on the OKF board with each other and see if that fixes everything.

GuestThanks for the reply Barry. Sorry about the photo quality. I do have the ins and outs correct. I get sound but it’s only bypassed sound and when the pedal is actually on. I should get the bypass signal when off correct?
I attached a couple more photos. Hopefully they show up a little better.

BarryKeymasterI would check the voltage at the 9v pad of the main board to be sure you are getting 9v to start. Then check the voltage at the transistors. If you find nothing wrong I would reflow the solder joints (all of them).

GuestHmmm I did have some trouble with the wiring in that spot. And it kind of makes sense seeing as I just get a bypass sound when the pedal is on. I’ll definitely give that a shot today and report back.
Appreciate it again!

Oscar LamasParticipantHere is something you may want to try. Just last week I had this issue, and 3 months ago I encountered it for the first time.
After lots of troubleshooting I found that the solution was to change the 3PDT wiring board. In both cases I had over soldered the foot switch to the board. I changed the board and it worked. I would rule out everything else and then try that.Hope it works.
