Matt
ParticipantJust finished up this DSOTM build for my cousin.
Super proud of how the print ended up turning out and the classic knobs really pull the look together.
Thanks to Barry for the comprehensive build info and drill template to help make sure everyone’s build looks good!

KeymasterImpressive looking build with beautiful artwork. Could you share your thoughts on the diverse sounds you can achieve with this combo? I’m sure you’ve found it offers much more than just Pink Floyd tone.

ModeratorThat’s really nice. These come out so clean. Must sound killer.

ParticipantHere’s a link to the artwork for those interested.
It’s Tayda ready and should line up perfectly with Barry’s drill template.

ParticipantI haven’t had much play time on it since I finished it in the wee hours of the morning (whoops) but I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of tones I could dial in with the Fuzz and Wattamp. I must say tho the Phaser takes the cake for me. I love some weirdo modulation and this one can do anything from tasteful, almost uni-vibey, sounds to some total nightmare type stuff.
Admittedly, I’m not a huge Floyd fan myself but I am floored with how versatile the board is, I will absolutely be building one for myself in the future.

KeymasterHey Mathew,
Since you provided some art (thank you) I think it may be helpful for people to get through the check out process to understand a few things with this particular image. Please correct me if I am wrong on any account. I will try to make some kind of guide to follow since there are a lot of steps.
I am not sure about your gloss layer but I can edit this or anything else once I know the details.
see section in large red font below.
————————————————
You need to create an account with Tayda to be able to upload ART files or Drill Template links and save them to your account.
For purchases through Tayda using this particular artwork you need to:
Go to this link: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/hardware/enclosures.html
Add a Black 1590DD enclosure to the cart.
You will also need to add a 1590DD drill service as well if you want drilled.
Go to this link:https://www.taydaelectronics.com/1590dd-custom-drill-enclosure-service.html
That is where you will add the drilling service to your cart.
Go to this link: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/hardware/enclosures/enclosure-uv-printing-service.html
Then you will need to purchase a 1590DD UV Printing service, and Gloss layer service:
- Enclosure UV Printing Service (choose enclosure size you wish to order) – In this case a 1590DD.
- Additional Service for Gloss Layer Enclosure Custom Printing Service – This puts a protective coat over artwork.
Checkout and pay.
After waiting at least 15 minutes, visit this link:
https://drill.taydakits.com/dashboardThis is where you can assign your uploaded UV template as well as your Drill template link.
Mathew this is where you can provide any details about your artwork to me and I can edit or update as needed.
Name your Design, select the enclosure size, and answer ‘Yes’ to all the questions (the files have data in the color, white, and gloss layers). Choose a Varnish or Matte topcoat finish, accept all terms and save your design.
In the Orders section, click ‘Create Job’ (see Figure B in picture below).
Select the enclosure you ordered and attach the UV Printing, Design and Gloss services you purchased to the Enclosure Job, as shown below. Click ‘Submit Box Job’ when finished.
The print job is now pending. Be sure to check back in a day or two to make sure there are no issues from the graphics department, as they will leave a message here if there are any problems. Your order is now in production!
Obviously you will have to adjust what is written in the images above to be pertinent to your own enclosure since the images are only examples and contain enclosure names like 1590B etc. which is not correct for this job.

ModeratorGreat looking build, inside and out!! Love the flying saucer knobs! Really finishes of the pedal nicely!

ParticipantWhat a great idea to put a whole guide together!
I shot you an email with a couple small edits otherwise but what you’ve got is pretty comprehensive. The biggest thing is just double and triple checking every step in the process.
More related to the pedal, I found a decent Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream–esque tone by diming out the Wattamp gain, fuzz and fuzz volume then tweaking EQ controls to taste. You can even dial in a subtle vibey sound on the Phaser for the clean parts.

KeymasterThanks!
I think, in addition to a guide, I’d like to create a special thread for ART donations.
This would be helpful since many people are not familiar with how to use ART programs, and it would be nice to have some diverse options.
The thread wouldn’t be limited to 1590DD. It could cover any type of Triple combo, Dual combo, or Single.

ParticipantBarry, excellent idea for a artwork folder. I was going to order the enclosure but wasn’t sure if the file was okay. when I open it it doesn’t look anything like the finished product. I know nothing about layering of the file.

Keymaster“I was going to order the enclosure but wasn’t sure if the file was okay. when I open it it doesn’t look anything like the finished product.”
That is the way it should look.
As you can see from my image below I was able to pull the mask back. I just had trouble trying to edit beyond that.
I can’t say with 100% certainty that it will be correct, as I haven’t used it. According to Matthew, it should work fine if you use my drill template since they are both oriented correctly. Still, I cannot guarantee anything. I can tell you that the blue you are seeing is the gloss layer which is covering the color layer.

ParticipantAwesome Idea, big thanks to Matthew for sharing this fantastic artwork. I’ve been trying to do some edits in illustrator and came here looking for some advice, but I couldn’t do anything better than what Matthew has so kindly shared!

ModeratorBarry Davis, what a great suggestion as to adding a second white layer on dark enclosures! Thanks for the tip!

ParticipantTook advantage of Matt’s generosity and ordered this UV printed enclosure from Tayda, I did have the white layer printed twice.

KeymasterVery nice! Did you get the gloss layer for the print as well?
Be sure to post a new Show off thread when you are done.

ParticipantI did get the Gloss as well, and will definitely post the finished pedal.
