This should be fairly straightforward..putting a dual board pedal together, using g the 3pdt I/O board, and a question has popped up: how exactly would one wire this together, using stereo output Jack on the out of board 1, and the input of board 2, with the following diagram, such that if I could use these normally in series, but if I had another pedal.. say EQ or compressor between the drive boards, that I could “patch” it in between, but if no cable was inserted, it would still be in series.
I apologize, as this sounds awkward.
the below diagram makes complete sense as how one would simply insert these in series.. but how to leave the capability to allow an “insertion point” between each of em.thank you!

Participantto clarify.. think of the KOT’s 4 Jack setup.

PlaysforfunModeratorI do this often because it is simple and adds so many possibilities. Just add a pair of mono switched jacks between the output and input of the two drive boards (or 3PDT boards), with the switch portion soldered with a jumper to pass the signal between both when nothing external is plugged in to either jack. Check out the build document for the Paramix and examine the insert in and the insert out jacks in the schematic. With nothing plugged in it is simply a pass through. There are several types of jacks that perform the task. I use the box type alot. The jacks with the purple wire jumper between and the yellow jumper between are the loops.

ParticipantPlaysforFun, I am looking into those jacks on Antique Electronics Supply at the moment. Yup, looks like that what i need to make this work, and just a minor wiring modification to the above diagram Barry has up on the site demonstrating daisy chaining of the I/O boards.
Will be a good thing, as I have plans for dual Rats, Muffs, Blues Drivers, and a dual Klon style boost as well.
Welll.. about time to hit order!
Also realized i was out of C100Ks for my Space Modulator board. Tempted to swap in an A100K, but i feel that rate knob would be a bit too touchy, I tend to prefer chorus/flange sloooooow, but with high depth.August 30, 2025 at 4:42 pm #37222
PlaysforfunModeratorI use those guys for my amp building and maintenance projects. For the taper its usually best to stick with what the schematic says unless it just seems wrong for you in use. Of course, either choice will get you the same spectrum of result. Have fun.

ParticipantHear ya on the taper bits! Just hit send on the order, have 6x mono switched jacks, and 10x c100k inbound.
I finished spotting all other pots earlier this afternoon, and am switching gears to another project..I picked up a huge batch of Other* Pedals boards and faceplates recently.. their Honey Coma (Roland Bee Baa inspired,) is a wildly thick fuzz, with a really cool faceplate. Troubleshooting their “Every’Thang,” ( DOD Vibrothang inspired,) and realized I soldered in the J201 adapter board in ‘backerds… welp, time to fire up ye olde vacuum desoldering wand!!
Woohoo rework 😂 -
