InactiveHello everyone, I am a first time builder and got the kit from pedal parts and kits for Blues Buster pedal.
after wiring it up to the best of my understanding, the pedal does not work, can you please look at the wiring and maybe point something wrong or obvious mistake? I have a multimeter but no clue where to start, what to measure for.
any pointer is appreciated at this point.
thank you

ChuckParticipantCan you be more specific about how it doesn’t work? Does the pedal pass signal when by passed? Does the LED light up when it’s activated?
I’d start by checking connections between board and switch/jacks. The solder joints on the In and Out on the board don’t look great and the Out connection on the switch doesn’t look good either. The angle of the photo is not great but the 9V and G connections between the 3PDT board and the main board might need some attention as well.
Can you also post a good photo of the back side of the board?

Inactivethank you for your questions, as a new builder I had no idea what questions to ask to start the trouble shooting.
the led is lighting up but no sound comes through the speaker even when bypassed. So I will try to clean up the wiring and welding on the stump button board. I will post the result here. thank you.

ChuckParticipantIf you are not getting any signal through either when bypassed or when the pedal is on there is a problem in the way the jacks have been wired. My personal preference when using the 3PDT board is to connect the I (in), O(out) with their associated grounds (the unlabeled spots right below the I and O) to the jacks, and then use the BI (board in) and BO (board out) spots on the 3PDT board to connect to the main board using the In and Out spots marked with the small T – on the Blues Buster these are toward the top of the board where you have the white wires connected.
Also, we’d probably get a lot more help if the conversation was taking place on the GuitarPCB Build Support board rather than the general discussion board.

InactiveI’ll echo what chuck says. If you are not getting any signal when bypassed there is something wrong with the offboard connections at the switch or the jacks. I know the breakout 3PDT Boards are generally a tight fit but it looks like you may have some cold solder joints.
The other question is the D6 LED looks like it could be oriented the wrong way. It is hard to tell from the photo.
The other problem is some of the solder joints at the input and output lugs look like they have some frayed strands which may create ground shorts. Also, it looks like you may have some cold solder joints at the breakout board from the input and output for your board.
I would also follow Chuck’s advice and move this to the Build Support Board instead of the General Discussion Board.
