Not sure if this is a silly question or not, but I currently have the B500k pot in the Tube Screaming Ultra build. Awesome build, but still has a ton of gain. I built it in the original BOM layout. Could I tame the gain a little with a B250k pot instead? OR should I just change out the C4, R6 and R7 to get the 808 sound more closely?
Just as the instructions suggest to mod the 1M pot to a B500K by adding a resistor across lugs 1 and 3, you can do the same to the 500K pot. Add a 500K resistor ( or closest value) to create a 250K pot. This will further tame the gain.
