I just finished building the Dr Phybes pedal and the effect wont happen on its own.  when i turn the trim pot on the board i can hear the phase take place but otherwise, it wont do it by itself.  also i was given a sheet with the kit that said to omit R32, but on the populated board image on the build document i see a 1.8kohm resistor in R32s spot, so im not sure how to move forward with that.  also, i seem to have a different board than the others ive seen on the forum, maybe its a newer or older version im not sure

R32 is the LED current limiting resistor you’d omit that if using a 3PDT board to mount your LED if mounted on the main pcb you would need it in place any value up to 4K7 would do

Post some nice clear images of both sides of the pcb so that all component values and orientation can be seen and wiring traced

What JFETs did you use? Is there a fluctuating on either side of R23? The trimpot has a very small “sweet spot” and needs to adjusted slowly and in very small increments to find that “sweet spot”. Is the “VB” voltage ½ the value of the input supply voltage? And as Billy mentions, good clear photos are important.

hey sorry for the late reply and thank you both for getting back to me, it ended up being the trimpot, i somehow passed the sweet spot every time i adjusted it, but its all good now
