My goal: use a rotary switch to have many diode pair options, any of which can be used for either the soft-clipping <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>or</span> hard-clipping mode.
Rotary switch to select the diode (off-board circuit not shown here) then DPDT to select hard/soft clip.
I’m looking for a sanity check on my thought process. I think the simplest way to do it is to jumper some of the switch pads on the board (A1-A2, and B2-B3), and use the DPDT to toggle the diode send/return between hard/soft (see modified schematic and DPDT image), using D6 pads as ‘A’ ‘B’ pads for the hard clipping. I think this could also be done without jumpers, and using a 4PDT, but that just seems like extra switching without purpose. Anyone have thoughts?
