Hey guys, just curious if D6 is really necessary for this Ratt circuit. I only just realized you used a 1n4001 in it based on the page photo in the video link. I actually just built up a couple including my own socketed unit, but it has no diode in D6. Sounded great anyways.

Just curious if not using it will affect the pedal.

Also. Is it OK to build one based on the ORIGINAL parts listing? I’m guessing it was included to offer that as a version, but I just wanted to make sure before I run an entire PCB down with that list of parts.

    Loving the blue PCBs btw!!!

    Hi Patrick

D6 is reverse polarity protection so wouldn’t affect the tone basically protects against putting a centre positive ps in accidentally

I built my ratt to original specs so no problem there

You’ll find that info just below the BOM in the build doc

Thanks, Billy! I figured that was what that was, just wanted to double check since I didn’t see D6 in the parts list.

Now I’m excited to do an original!!
