I just finished putting together a MKC kit. The volume pot seems to cut out when turned all the way up. Is this possibly just a bad pot?
After more knob twiddling this cut out does not happen if the treble knob is all the way up. The gain pot also does not seem to do a whole lot. I will get pictures and check the test points tomorrow.
You are going to have to troubleshoot. I would start by re-flowing solder joints on and off board. I can’t speculate beyond that without looking at the pedal.

At the IC1 with 7.9 volts I have 3.99, 3.99, 3.13, 0, 3.95, 3.99, 4.02, 7.96 1-8.
IC2 reads 4.02, 4.01, 4.00, 0, 4, 4, 4, 8.

It’s Bruce at Pedal Parts and Kits. I do not know if this is the issue or not, but one of my vendors recently sent me 1.5uF film capacitors instead of 1uF, and we didn’t catch it, and some kits got filled with these. Yours appears to be one of the kits impacted. I am sending you 3 1uF film capacitors. The 155J100 capacitors should be 105J100. The ones I sent you look identical to the the correct ones, except for the 3rd digit.
Let’s see if that fixes it before you jump through a lot of troubleshooting hoops. Sorry about this.
