I posted under Photon Phuzz first build

The a problem which I worked out which was when I was re-soldering I accidentally swapped swapped the hot wires on the input and output jacks

The problem I now have, is that the bias pot doesn’t do anything, the voltage on the transistor doesn’t change at all, I have swapped the resistor and the potentiometer separately without any change, As best as I can understand the schematic, this appears to be all that controls the voltage to the transistor, all components are correct values. the voltage is consistently 6.1v

Can anybody help me out I would be grateful as I am still learning this stuff and I dont understand this

Check the bias pot changes resistance as you turn it Tim it’s wired as a variable resistor so the pot along with R3 bias the transistor

Place your meter probes on lugs 1 and 3 and resistance should alter as you rotate the pot

Pot is working OK but value isn’t changing at transistor, I cant see any obvious shorts on the board I am thinking of jumpering between the components to see if there is a break in the tracks on the board

Have you reflowed all the solder joints from 9v to R3 the bias pot Q1 C2 and R4

What are your voltages on all transistor pins and what voltage is your power supply putting out
