InactiveHey everyone,
First post here and I’m very happy to have my build of the GuitarPCB Sunn-T preamp with added SHO boost on/off switch, finally finished. This last addition was done by someone more experimented than me. When trying it for the first time, got amazed by the sound but was surprised on how much gain it already has at 0, with the channels jumpered. Can’t really dial in a “clean” sound from there except with my guitar volume pot, so my new idea to add more versatility to the pedal is to consider it as an always On preamp, with the normal channel by default and the possibility to engage both channels by triggering the footswitch. Despite knowing the basics of pedal building I don’t really know how to start making this modification, that’s why I’d really enjoy from you guys some explanations in order to guide me
Here is a picture (I’ll do a better cable management in my next builds) :

switch on the left activates the SHO boost, replacing channel switching , channels are jumpered
Thanks in advance for your interest and your help

GuestAdd 2 blue jumpers to a DPDT switch and wire as shown here:

GuestI over-complicated this. A SPDT switch would also work. 🙂

InactiveHey wilkie1,
Thank you so much for your response.
I understand what you exposed in the schematic, but not really how it should be transfered in the context of my 3pdt switch taking in account there is also the boost switch

GuestDo you want the 3PDT footswitch to control only the Bright channel when actuated? That would have the Normal channel on all the time. Would you want the SHO boost to drive the Sunn T or have the SHO boost follow the Sunn T? Answer and I will draw a wiring diagram for you.

InactiveHey wilkie1
Thanks you for your response and giving time for this. Indeed the normal channel will be activated all the time, and the 3pdt footswitch will engage the bright one + keeping the normal one (as if it was on “both” setting). The boost drives the sunn-T.
