    Hello.

About to get started on my s.d.70s build but I cant find the build document anywhere.

Can somebody link me an archive or perhaps pm it to me?

    Thanks so much.

Got it together and tested lastnight. Sounds pretty good from the getgo.

I would like a bit more bass from the boost side without having to run the bass switch mod.

I currently have no c15 or switch 2 installed.

Can I change the 22n at c14 to say a 47n and would this allow a bit more bass passthrough?

*Also…what is the drive section based off of?

It was pretty sweet sounding with no tweaking at all (running a older JRC4558 in there).

JED – it looks to me like it may have originally stemmed from an old SD-1 pedal circuit. Maybe Barry has a the correct answer or can confirm my best guess.

Use a 100nF. A 22nF allows all standard tuned frenquencies of a guitar. If you want detuned, baritone or Bass 100nF is plenty. 220nF is for Bass only as well as 5 string Bass. If you used that for standard guitar at loud volumes you are likely to get undesirable low rumblings hence the switch. 100nF is a good value for both without being too low for detuned guitars.

It is a stripped down tube screamer, no buffer or unnecessary extras.

One final question for this build (thanks again for all the help here btw).

I noticed in the build pic. non inserted resistors looks like they have a hardwire bridge connecting each side (or it’s just a black sharpie). Should I be bridging say r18,r9 and others?

The Build Doc states that those CLR resistors are not required if using the 3PDT wiring boards.  That picture does show that the wiring boards contained the CLRs and the LEDs.

I don’t know why the board picture is showing a jumper in those resistor positions.  But they are not needed and don’t do anything.  Just follow the Build Doc and you will be fine.

    Hi,

I also have one of these and have downloaded this PDF. I was wondering if anyone has a schematic or layout for the possible “diode daughter board?”

Also why was this discontinued? It seemed like a Build-off challenge favorite?

    Thanks

WhiteOak – I believe you are referring to these: 3PDT Wiring board

The entire list of build documents links is: HERE

I don’t believe they are discontinued, Barry is just out of stock ATM.

    thanks for the link

It’s the DPDT wiring board.  That one can easily be wired to select between 2 different clipping diode combinations.  Just wire the center contacts to points A and B.

For more versatility, use the Rototone to select up to 4 options.

I have been out with an injury.

There are DPDT wiring boards and Super Drive 70’s in stock now from my personal stash
