I’m building a NostalgiTone Vibe. I’m now testing it before boxing it.
- Sound works
- Volume works
- Voice works
- RATE does NOT work
- INT does NOT work
- LED is on and brightens and dims with the Trim pot, as well as the Voice pot.
- LED does NOT oscillate
- I’m guessing its an issue in the LFO section, but I have no idea what I should be troubleshooting.
- I’ve checked resistors and caps, is there anything obvious that I am missing?
- 100p & 470p are Film Caps, not ceramic Caps, does that matter?

Try covering the LED/LDR section with a dark cloth to eliminate ambient light for starters. Testing the pedal in normal daylight conditions won’t allow the LDRs to do their magic thing. Let us know if that changes things.
Does the LED pulse?
I would personally re-flow your solder joints by reheating the solder pad and then have a little extra solder handy to touch to the pad.
For example your Rate and Intensity joints do not look very filled in.
If that doesn’t help I would re-flow the entire project.
If that doesn’t help provide voltages for the ICs.

Yes, I haven’t soldered those pots in yet.. I tested the first ones and they seemed to be off and replaced them, The rate B100K post was only measuring 60K. it was a paint to remove, so I wanted to test it without soldering it… could be a reason its not working now ?
You cannot accurately test values in circuit. Some may be correct but many will be affected by other components in the path.
You absolutely must solder components for the circuit to work correctly.

soldered, same issue, LED on, not oscillating.
Pulling the IC socket out, and redoing, I don’t think it was compressed enough into the PCB board.
