I soldered my first PCB today (a cheap Welleman Pre-Amp kit I got from Small Bear) and determined I need better light and magnification for these 59 year old eyes. Any advice on what I should look for or one you would recommend?

What magnification does yours have?
the smaller, flex-arm light is 3x and i think the larger free-standing one is just 2x with a little 5x spot on it.
I have been using a cheap head magnifier from Harbor Freight that cost around $4. I use a small desk lamp with LED bulb for light. Works like a charm, a lot better than my old setup using a stationary magnifier and separate light.
I ended up ordering some mad scientist glasses. I am also getting a 5x magnifying lamp. I need a lamp any way and decided I might as well get a magnifying one.

I can see so much more detail; the difference is night and day!
