Plexi and Black Dog would be a great combo.  I used a 1790 for this one and it’s tight but not impossible.  I print everything out beforehand and make sure the boards will sit the way I want. Looking forward to seeing your combo!

Thanks for the huge compliments Barry, I do love me a good combo.  All of these really came from a desire to minimize the 9v cables I needed on my board, so I started pairing and grouping the pedals that I use into combo units to both limit the number of 9v connections I needed, as well as making a visually uniform pedalboard that was easy to navigate.

The Everland combines my favorite Delay and Chorus – the D’Lay and Mini-Me.  In previous builds I had done the tap tempo and associated mods, as well as the Buff’n Blend for the Chorus, but wanted to step it up a notch.  The Delay mods were simple, as I basically only had the WF runaway mod left to try, so I wired that up with a momentary footswitch, which has worked AMAZING for trailing off at the end of a song or doing some weird eerie stuff during a bridge.  I also had the tactile momentary switches handy, which are personally easier for me to tap in properly.

As for the Chorus, I love this chorus so much but wanted to take it to someplace “weird” so I added the Roto-Tone to the chorus in place of C8 and then added a DPTP switch in between to switch between “Bank A-C” or “Bank B-D”, giving me 8 total chorus ranges.  This is really a simplified version of Wilkie1’s Chorus mod, (avoiding his capacitor stacking math :-p ) that simply has 8 capacitor options to choose from to sculpt the chorus.  I used the following cap values for the filter mod:  1) 150pF  2) 220pF  3) 330pF  4) 100pF  5) 33pF  6) 22pF  7) 57pF  8) 470pF

These options provide such a wide range of tones, from classic to pronounced to downright wild and everyone who has tried it is thoroughly entertained by the tones.  I also get mad praise on the tone of the Delay so I will pass that praise straight on to you, Barry.  Thanks for making such a delicious and analog-sounding despite the necessary digital components!!

Looks great!  very clean inside and out.

My guess for your Fat switch is that the switch simply needs turned around.  It looks as though you have the checkmark (im assuming that’s “On”) on the same side as you have the wires.  Toggle switches turn on the opposite side’s solder lugs when flipped in a direction.  Just rotate the switch 180 degrees and it will make sense.  Well done, again – super clean!

Thanks everyone, I forgot to click the notify by email so I didnt see all these supportive comments!

@e_man As far as using the two knob job to “switch channels” – since the 2KJ has 3 pads, you can use one of them for the send, the other for the return and the always connected one (follow the trace) as the ground.  This will allow you to take the signal in and out from the jack through A or B, with C connected as ground.  Then you wire up the Ins & Outs to each board from the potentiometer connections allowing you to switch the sends and returns from one circuit to the other (as @Playsforfun has noted – using all of it at once would burn a hole in the atmosphere, so the channel switching ensures that cant happen….and also functions as a two channel amp preamp).

lol Thanks Billy!   Wow that is a lot of extra parts to flash an LED, guess I’ll do without for space’s sake.  🙂

It can be done for sure by taking the “In” to the first order switching board which then feeds the preamp and the second order switching board. The second order switching board then connects to the moffn and rat.

This will allow the muffn and rat to be swapped amongst themselves and also the distortion ‘loop’ to be switched before or after the preamp.

Hope this helps!  Cool idea, Enjoy!

Hey Ollie – I think that is a copy/paste error in the document, like you noticed, there is no Op-Amp in the non-Op amp Muff’n.

The Blues buster circuit also has a multiple clipping mod, where the off position of an on/off/on cuts the feedback loop out and only drives the opamp, so I think this was probably just a copy/paste error in the documentation.

Bravo!  This is spectacular!  You could throw this in your bag and take it to almost anything and sound great.  I’m also a big fan of the artwork, easily lets you know what goes with what and looks very 70’s as well.

Is that a GGG DI board? I have used the speaker simulator but not the DI.  Is it clean?

Thanks for posting this!  I may copycat….

@sofnwhat Looks great! Good luck, looking forward to the finished pedal!

Watch out for the screw post on that middle footswitch, I’ve made the mistake of getting it too close before!

Thanks guys, I have some on order, but I was moreso wondering what the effect would be.  After reading a bit on baxandalls it would seem, as you said, the surrounding values would need to be changed to compensate for the change. The tone tweq as well has different values surrounding the pots.  I’ll prob just be patient and, as my dad always says, use the right tool for the job. 🙂

Great lesson on modifying pots as well!  Many thanks!

Thanks a lot! I’m glad you like it, and I hope it gives you some ideas! And it really is great to be able to switch between the two drives with a single click.

This is a 1590D size box.  It’s basically 3 125’s side by side or 2 DD’s stacked.  I use those so I can stand boards upright (or downright, i’m not sure).  https://lovemyswitches.com/categories/enclosures/1590d.html  or SmallBear has the same size as well…but they’re shutting down soon.

NICE!  The bias trim pot is a nice addition to fine tune, or if you like to try different Qs, and I love all the skinny switch holes, less solder needed.  No worries on the 9v, I’ll just do what I do now and tie two wires together leaving one lead long enough to go through the hole in the board.

I’m excited to see all you’ve been working on as it gets released!

Thanks Barry! I think it is my best yet as well.

Do the extra 9v and GND pads come in handy, you ask?
    ALL. THE. TIME. haha

speaking of…i would like to advocate for another 9v on the Afterblaster…..hehe  😉

This is excellent and inspiring me to think I need to build another Mini-Me!  I love the paint job on this, very nice!!  I also love the GGG 6 way selector boards as well and use the diode one more frequently than I probably should. :-p

I love combo builds, they can be daunting, but in the end you have something really unique.  Nicely done!
