BlackCatChicagoParticipantR.I.P. Ray! Thank you for all the knowledge you’ve generously shared with us and the encouragements and inspirations you’ve given us! You’ll be sorely missed by the entire pedal building community!
I’ve personally learned a great deal from the few brief interactions I’ve had with Ray and from reading his posts in this forum.
Barry, terribly sorry for your loss in a great friend, appreciate you sharing this with us.
My sincere condolences to Ray’s family and friends.

BlackCatChicagoParticipantAt long last, finally was able to find time over the weekend to complete this build. So this is not the Tube Screaming MKC I initially intended on building. This is a Fuzz/Drive combo pedal with non-GPCB boards (sorry Barry) I had already started working on and thought I would try adding the effect loop in between. Thanks to Wilkie, it came to live! I’ve tried putting a wah pedal in between, and I was able to get a really good wah sound with both effects. The only issue I’ve encountered is that in certain order, the fuzz will generate a high pitch squeal, I’m guessing it’s feedback from signals crossing each other. But other than that, it’s working as I had imagined!
Here’s a couple of pics. Please excuse the poor quality of the decal on the enclosure, the printing didn’t come out as dark as I thought it would.
Thanks again to Wilkie for all the help!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantI’ve been reviewing the diagram and I think this is exactly what I had in mind. Wilkie, can’t thank you enough for solving this mystery! Unfortunately, my regular 9 to 5 has been occupying most of my time, so I won’t be able to test this out until this coming weekend. Can’t wait until I can put this to test and let everyone know how it turns out. I’ll for sure be posting my updates!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantOf course! Take your time, I’m in no rush at all ????☘????
March 17, 2022 at 6:30 pm #23732
BlackCatChicagoParticipantOk, just got the 4PDT toggle switch in the mail. Been staring at it for a little bit and finally realized I have no idea where wiring for all the inputs and outputs are supposed to go. I drew how everything are placed in the enclosure, can you point me to where the wires should go? Once again, can’t thank you enough!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantahhhh, I see it now! Thanks!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantWhile I’m still waiting on the 4PDT to arrive, I just had a thought. Is it possible to add in another order switching board to control which effect the external FX loop comes after? Or am I crazy? (And yes, this is still keeping me up at night and I think I won’t be able to stop thinking about it until the 4PDT arrives and I can actually test it out ????)

BlackCatChicagoParticipantThank you! Gonna order a couple of them and try it out!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantHi Wilkie, thank you so much for taking the time and solving this! (Kept me up for a few nights before I posted here ????) One more question, should I be using a 4PDT On On like this one from Love My Switches?
March 10, 2022 at 9:36 am #23623
BlackCatChicagoParticipantYeah, the part I couldn’t figure out was how to keep the FX loop to stay in between to 2 boards with the order switch board added. And I really don’t want to get it too cluttered with too many switches and wires, so to keep things simple I think I’ll just stick with having the FX loop come after the first board.
Cybercow and Wilkie thanks for the help and suggestions, much appreciated!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantPerfect, I actually bought some from Love My Switches not too long ago! So do I wire the “Send” jack to the output of effect 1 and the “Return” jack to the input of effect 2?

BlackCatChicagoParticipantHad a little time to try it out, and it’s working just as intended! Thanks so much for the help!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantThanks! I’ll give that a try!

BlackCatChicagoParticipantI actually already have another LED wired to the Afterblaster to turn on when the Blues Buster is engaged. The 3PDT footswitch in the middle is wired to the where the dip switches would’ve been on the Afterblaster. Is there a way to wire the middle LED to the middle 3PDT footswitch so that LED will turn on when the extra gain boost is engaged via that footswitch?
