    Hey all,

I just wired up a SWAH kit from mammoth (v3n).

My main confusion is about the lugs on the input & output jacks. There is no indication of + or – (hot/gnd) on the diagram or on the board. The next level of confusion is that the in/out labels are opposite to the jacks shown. Thanks for your help!

As far as I can remember that was a manufacturing error where IN and OUT were mislabelled

On the pcb you will see 2 solder pads at IN and OUT one with a small T for tip or signal (+) the other for ground (-)

To be absolutely sure continuity check R1 with the T pads whichever one has continuity will be the IN side

With regard to the jack sockets if they are open style you can insert a jack and follow them round to see what they connect to like this ( this is a stereo jack a mono jack would not have the ring connection used only if it is wired for a battery)

For future reference the ground lug on an open style is always connected directly to the metal sleeve with a closed covered style it would usually be the lug at the angled side of the cover

    THANK YOU Billy!

So if I have understood, the diagram wiring is correct, just the labels on the pcb are switched?

I did not notice the ‘T’ thanks for pointing it out!

    The wiring is correct.

As Billy mentioned there was production error (unique to this board) and since it only required rerouting two wires (board In & board Out) to correct the signal orientation we adjusted the wiring diagram to make it work. Follow the Wiring Guide and barring any other build issues the pedal will work fine.

Also be sure to check out the Guides Page.

Aside from the orientation confusion of In/Out of the uniquely specific SWAH most questions would likely be answered there including info on the T Pad wiring we use on all of our boards.
