Just finished this rat clone and it sounds great!

But, only when using the battery. As soon as I plug in the dc adapter, led turns off and no power. With and without battery.

The dc connector could simply be faulty, the wiring seems to be fine. Any other way to troubleshoot this easily besides soldering a new connector?

    Thank you!

I would suggest rechecking the wiring of the Input Jack against Das Musikdings guide.

I am not familiar with his wiring layout or boards and I cannot clearly see what is going to where.

Double check none of your DC jack lugs have continuity

The battery +9v and top +9v should only have continuity until you plug in your adaptor, check once you plug in your adaptor there’s no continuity between the battery power and main power terminals on the DC  jack

Thanks Billy, that must be it.

There is no continuity between the battery +9v and DC/top +9v when the adapter is not plugged in, with battery used. But there is continuity between them as soon as I plug in the adapter, so they must be touching each other somehow.

    Maybe resolder those two?

My old eyes seem to see that the battery positive is connected to the +9 terminal on the power jack instead of the middle battery lug.  Reverse the two red wires and it should work  if I am correct.

Found the problem (facepalm). Battery 9v goes to wrong lug on the DC connector. Haha.

    Lesson learned.

Your eyes ain’t that old Ray I downloaded the photo zoomed in and still thought the battery was going to the middle lug

Now that I look at the solder lugs I can see it’s not sitting sideways
