SteveModeratorOk, get out your axe with the hottest pickups, drop D-tune your guitar (D, A, D, G, B, E), plug into this bad boy, and ROCK THE F**K OUT!!!
This is by far the most heavy, metal-style pedal I have ever played through. It is a combo of Rat distortion, op-amp-style Big Muff Pi fuzz, with a 26 dB booster added in to the mix. The Rat circuit provides heavy distortion and overdrive that can range from a mild crunch to a full-on saturated tone. The Muff delivers massive, saturated distortion with a smooth, even breakup—less grainy than other fuzzes and providing a more refined distortion that can easily be shaped. Oh, did I mention this circuit will sustain for days? What more can you say about a 26 dB booster added to take this combo over the top?!! Another ‘Home Run’ from Guitar PCB!!!

BarryKeymasterExcellent build and thanks for posting.
There’s plenty of potential for extra heavy tones when you use Distortion and Fuzz together, or pair the Boost with either one. Just remember to adjust the Distortion or Sustain levels accordingly using proper “Gain Mapping” techniques.
For an even heavier sound, which this beast is fully capable of, try tuning all strings down to D standard, C# (like Sabbath), C, or even lower. When tuning lower than D standard, most players will need to increase the gauge of their guitar strings—unless you’re Tony Iommi, of course.
