    Just finished the MoRC build and working in graphics , I was looking around and noticed people have used the words , volume, level , and sustain in all different orders

    the PCB says volume and level as I’m not really a compressor guy could someone explain to me if sone terms are interchangeable as well as how the release switch works

    IMO: “Level” on a compressor should refer to the amount of compression or “sustain” applied.

    “Volume” should be the volume of pedal’s output. For the MoRC build, that IS how it was designed.

    Volume is indeed Volume and Level is Level of Effect or Compression.

    If you want to dig further there are many resources in regards to Release in compression. I will link one below.

    I would say that if you are David Gilmour a slow release is fine but if you are Steve Vai you may like a much quicker Release.
