I’m getting a lot out of my Afterblaster mod boards and I’m working on a combo build with an order switcher. It has me wondering about how to wire up two footswitches so that the Afterblaster engaged/bypassed or Order 1/2 footswitch selects the color of a 2-color LED, and the LED turns off when the pedal is bypassed with the main bypass footswitch. Switching has been confusing to me, and I feel like figuring this one out will straighten out other confusion around switching.

The Afterblaster and the Easy Order Switching board are both equiped for bicolor Status LEDs.  But, I think you are saying that you want both of these LEDs to turn OFF when the main pedal bypass switch is activated?

I came up with a solution to this brain teaser that will work to turn off both LEDs when bypass is selected.  If you slave the power for the Afterblaster and the Order switcher to the bypass switch,  all power to the LEDs will be removed when bypass is selected.  To do this, wire the power source for both the Afterblaster and the Order Switcher to lug 4 of the bypass board.  I’m not sure if you may get a pop when switched.  Try it and see.

Thanks for this. This is what I was thinking, abstractly, but couldn’t work it out. Would a 1Meg resistor going to ground, connected to the wire going to lug 4 of the bypass board eliminate the potential for a pop?

No.  That would just ground out the voltage.
