I’m starting my Tube Screaming Ultra kit and I’m using a break-out board on the footswitch (with status LED and CLR).
My kit came with (2) 1k8 resistors. R19 is the only one with that value (which I presume would be for a main board status LED).
If I’m using the 1k8 on the mini-board as the CLR, I don’t need anything at R19, right?

Some gut shots on the forum have me confused as I’ve seen R19 pads with solder on them but no resistor (jumper underneath???), and I think I saw one that had both R19 *and* the mini-board CLR with resistors.
    Any clarification would be appreciated.

    TIA,
    Mick

Yes you only need one clr if you’re using the 3PDT pcb solder it on there and ignore the main pcb clr R19

Just be aware 1K8 will give you a pretty bright LED if you don’t want a bright LED just increase its value

I personally like a pretty dull LED and use a 10K clr with a standard LED

    Thanks for your reply Billy.
I’m just using the red LED that was included in the kit. It’s just an opaque red one. I have no idea what the mcd brightness is but it’s not like some of the water clear coloured ones that will burn out your retnas!

I also have used a 10k CLR with some other pedals, but I’ve tested the kit one with a 1k8 and a battery and it’s not very offensive.
    Thanks again!

I like a bright LED! It makes it easier to find my guitar picks when my arthritis sends them flying, plus I get a free red light therapy session out of it!

Go bright and crank up the fog machine, you’ll get a stage light show off of your pedal board. Best reason to use the bi-color led’s
