ParticipantHi y’all,
I am going to be doing a build for the Apollo Tremolo circuit on here, and was curious how the optional wiring would work. I see that it uses the same ground hole as the main foot switch, so I wire that middle switch into that same ground, or does it only work of the “kill switch” and “speed switch”? Thank you, I am a novice at this, so I’m sorry if there is a super simple solution that is not readily apparent to me!

BarryKeymasterThere are (2) common GND pads at the GND location. The other GND pad is connected to your power jack. I am not sure what you mean otherwise.
You will need to carefully connect both wires to one location. All ground locations are connected.
If you happen to be using a 3PDT wiring board you will have have even more GND options as long as it is sharing common ground with the main PCB.

BillyModeratorThe optional wiring is if you want to use a footswitch for your speed and kill switches with LEDs to indicate whether they’re engaged or not ie on or off rather than a toggle switch so it’s just showing you how to connect speed and kill footswitches as an option
The ground connection to those switches simply switches the LEDs on or off by connecting the LED cathode negative pin to ground to visually indicate whether they’re engaged ie on or off
As Barry says you can use any ground point you don’t have to use the pad shown in the diagram you can connect them to the DC jack ground lug or the in and out jack sleeve lugs whatever is easiest for you as long as all ground points are connected to ground
Are you going to use footswitches for the speed and kill switches?
It’s down to personal preference so if you think you’ll use them go for it we’re here to help so if you are unsure just ask

ParticipantThank you Billy, and yes I think I am going to try and use the footswitches for the speed and kill switches! I am sure I will have more questions when I start the build, but very excited!
