Angry Llama in a 1590B with battery. Tight squeeze – took me a while to figure out how to make it all fit. It sounded a bit splatty at first, but then I remembered to adjust the trim pot for the JFET and it was all good.

I love this circuit and with the added Boost stage (and accompanying control knob) you can take this circuit places the original could never go. It is easy to test the difference by simply rolling the “Boost Control” down to (0) which would basically be stock and then from (0) to Full Up is all new territory!
Yes biasing the extra stage is important and I am glad you like it.
