ParticipantI won’t rehash my whole previous post, but this is a scaled down version of my sans-amp Plexi Rebel Road King.
Combining the Plexi Plus/ToneTweq, King of the Brits (KotB), and Stage 3 circuits, along with a Two Knob Job for “channel” switching between the Plexi and the KoTB circuits.
I wired the KotB and S3 in place first and then added the Plexi Plus.
Lastly added the ToneTweq circuit to the Plexi.
Thanks for looking!

ParticipantI have been inspired by your combo build! I’ve built a combo using a BEOD and a Tight Box with a Sho’Nuff Booster. I used a loop switching PCB from another company to achieve the “channel” switching between the BEOD & the Tight Box.
I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you used the 2KJ to perform “channel switching”.
I can’t see enough detail in your gut shots to determine how it was wired.
Thanks for any help you can give.

ParticipantGreat Marshall inspired build! A little more complex than my recent Judas Priest pedal.

ModeratorAny more gain and you might have to run a fan through there to control the heat. Excellent work Chris.

ParticipantThanks everyone, I forgot to click the notify by email so I didnt see all these supportive comments!
@e_man As far as using the two knob job to “switch channels” – since the 2KJ has 3 pads, you can use one of them for the send, the other for the return and the always connected one (follow the trace) as the ground. This will allow you to take the signal in and out from the jack through A or B, with C connected as ground. Then you wire up the Ins & Outs to each board from the potentiometer connections allowing you to switch the sends and returns from one circuit to the other (as @Playsforfun has noted – using all of it at once would burn a hole in the atmosphere, so the channel switching ensures that cant happen….and also functions as a two channel amp preamp).

ParticipantThanks for the info Chris. The 2KJ is going to make this easy to pull off.
I’m thinking of a Plexi-Plus and a Black Dog, with a Stage 3 to round things out. Still working out the enclosure size too.
Thanks again.

ParticipantPlexi and Black Dog would be a great combo. I used a 1790 for this one and it’s tight but not impossible. I print everything out beforehand and make sure the boards will sit the way I want. Looking forward to seeing your combo!

ParticipantPrinting everything out is a good idea.
I put my first combo in a 1590DD. It had plenty of room. One difference with this one will be an order switch to choose where the boost goes; before or after the drives, but that shouldn’t require any more room.
I’ll hopefully be getting started soon. I’ll be posting pics when it’s done.
I’m excited to hear the results!
