So just to be clear, I would orientate the tantalum as shown here?

Thanks ‘fig’… I am aware that the Tantalum caps are polarized, my question is can that Tantalum cap be used in the C1 location on the Muff’N PCB?

I built this minimalist ‘breakout box’ several months ago but would gladly pay for a PCB like that one if/when Barry deemed it a good investment to add to his repertoire of most excellent PCB’s!

Thanks for the kind words gents! I have to admit… combo builds rock! I haven’t done anything really complicated… yet. But looking forward to getting to that point. 🙂

Nice clean build! I have learned through experience and trying to stuff as much as you can into a small enclosure is not always the best plan. I called this one ‘just because you can, doesn’t mean you should’ pedal… This one worked when hooked up my breakout box, but refused to cooperate in the enclosure. 🙂 Ended up putting it into a 1590b and all was well with the world.

Thanks gents! Before seeing your answers I had socketed that cap and was going to try the 20pF just for giggles. I did however place my order at Tayda anyway. (I let my cart get to around the $30.00 mark for misc components before I pull the trigger.) 😉
Thanks again, will post photo’s when the build is complete!

Who really invented the first working light bulb and when?

    A: Sir Humphry Davy

Op Amps have basically three amplifiers or stages, the input differential stage, the gain stage, and the what?

    A: Output

According to Ohms Law, when the current flowing through any portion of a circuit is known, the voltage dropped across that portion of the circuit can be determined by multiplying the current times the what?

    A: Resistance

AC is more likely to cause a victim’s heart to do what than DC electricity?

A: Due to the alternating nature behavior of AC, it causes to heart’s pacemaker neurons into atrial fibrillation which is more dangerous than DC, where cardiac standstill (due to ventricular fibrillation) occurs in case of electric shock. In this case, there is a better chance for “frozen heart” to get back on the normal track as compared to fibrillating heart caused by AC. In that cases, defibrillating equipment (which supply DC units to halt the fibrillation and bring back the heart to the normal condition) are used as emergency medical service. (Utilitzed the internet for that one.) 🙂

In the year 1970 who was the best guitar player in the world?

A: James Marshall Hendrix (Jimi). He also died that year. Hope that doesn’t disqualify him. Lol!
