Thanks MathU41. I had the same issue with the preamp boost section of a Rock Hard build. The TL072 would not work, so I changed it out and installed the TL071 and it worked. I noticed in a couple of photos in the “Show your build” thread that a TL061 was used in one build and a TL071 was used in another build. Thanks again for your post about this; it saved a project for me!

I recently built the Rock Hard project. What I didn’t realize is that the parts list and schematic call for a TL072 IC. I had to trash the first build after trying to trouble-shoot the boost not operating (saved a few parts). I built a second one and the same result with the boost happened. Thank goodness for the forum – I discovered that listing the TL072 was a typo and what is really required is a TL071. Swapped that out and voila! – the boost came alive! Not sure if there is a way to GuitarPCB to edit the documents, but it still shows the wrong IC for the boost in Rock Hard documentation. I see that some of the info in the stand-alone NT Boost documentation shows the correct IC at one location. I’m wondering if Steve had this problem with the boost component?
