									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is perfectly fine to solder IC Chips to the PCB if you are good at doing it without over heating them. I do it all the time. I did say above in my post that the first things to solder are the Diode and Sockets.</p>
<p>Anyway I would just go ahead and build it up but take your time and carefully plot your course.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Also the Phaser is one of a few PCBs that use standing resistors unless you have 1/8 resistors. It is the only way to fit everything on the PCB. So if you have the standard 1/4 resistors you need to do the standing resistor technique.</p>

<p>With a Kit you would receive at least all of the components, pcb, jacks.</p>
<p>I think you need to add-on the Enclosure and knobs seperately.</p>

The first thing I’d suggest is checking all resistor values by color band, since they can’t be reliably tested in-circuit. There’s a chart on the Guides page if you need a reference.<br />

<p>One thing I’ve found on three in a row knob sections like that—those smaller Davies-style knobs can make it a little easier to get in there to turn them, but this still looks great as is.</p>

In practical terms, it adjusts the low and low-mid content before distortion occurs. Because of that, it changes the character of the overdrive.<br />
