<p>The trim pot is a necessity for the Fuzz. You could even mount it as a pot for a quick change. I also like how the Bass pot can be used to adjust your tone between say a Strat and Les Paul guitar switch. I roll off Bass for the Les Paul and add some for the Strat.</p>

<p>The only thing I can think of is a short, or perhaps the Green blew out leaving the Red only.</p>
<p>I would check for a solder bridge, and also probably just replace the LED with a pre-tested one using a 3v coin battery. Must be common anode.</p>

<p>I would try another new LED. You can pre-test with a 3v coin battery.</p>
<p>If that doesn&#8217;t help I would test the connections between the 3PDT and main board with regard to the LED usiing your DMM in continuity mode.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is perfectly fine to solder IC Chips to the PCB if you are good at doing it without over heating them. I do it all the time. I did say above in my post that the first things to solder are the Diode and Sockets.</p>
<p>Anyway I would just go ahead and build it up but take your time and carefully plot your course.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Also the Phaser is one of a few PCBs that use standing resistors unless you have 1/8 resistors. It is the only way to fit everything on the PCB. So if you have the standard 1/4 resistors you need to do the standing resistor technique.</p>
