I just build the ToneTweq. While testing I found two issues:

    1. The circuit is quite noisy, even when input is pulled to ground
    2. It makes the volume pot of my guitar scratchy, usually a sign of a DC voltage going through the pot.

I double checked that all parts are ok, tried with a TL072 and a NE5532 , no difference. Powered through a linear LAB-supply, which I used for audio before and which is very quiet.

Tried with two different power amps, an old Epiphone practice amp and a class – D power amp board. ( I also noticed that it does not have enough gain for the class-d board, but that’s my problem, it probably needs another gain stage)

I also just build the tube screamer PCB which has none of these problems.

    Help is appreciated.

How about some good clear photos of the build please? Both sides of the PCB and all the wiring. That way we might be able to see what’s happening. Verbal descriptions without photos and/or voltage measurements just leave us guessing. Thanks!
