One knob fuzz is only my 2nd build. Power is working, footswitch turns the LED on and off, but NO sound. Already anticipating my mistake…. had trouble with the sockets for BC108 and 109, so wired the transistors to the board without the sockets, wondering if THAT was my first mistake. Also, couldn’t see anything about orientation of those transistors from the build docs (from Pedal Parts and Kits), so took my best guess. If the orientation of those transistors matters, could you direct me to a picture/chart of how those transistors should be done?
Still had fun! Wish I had looked here first (your docs are better than PedalParts). Hoping with your help I can still get it to work, so Thanks in Advance!
The datasheets for the BC10x series are freely available on the web and easily found with a Google search. Here is a screenshot of the BC10x series BJT pinouts . . .
The tit always points to the emitter.
The board has a silkscreen as well. The pads are also in an orientation for easy insertion.
You should post clear pictures so we can see what is going on.
You guys are the best! Already think this will help me solve my newbie mistakes. Thanks for your willingness and expertise!
