    Morning / evening all,

Just finished building mini me with the Wilkie mod last weekend.  Moment of truth, plugged it in and no sound or led lights.  Worked out I’d wired 9v wrong pins so fixed and led worked, but same sound on bypass as when engaged.

Got out my trusty audio probe and voltmeter and started tracing signal and testing voltages – following the rather detailed thread on the same topic – although my voltages were much closer to correct and I bought the MN chip from Small Bear.

Reflowed all joints.  Then read the bit about G2.  In the build diagram for the 3PDT board G2 doesn’t appear to be connected.  But I then tested and wired G2 directly to ground.  Next test and with tuning the trimpot I how have chorus.  My question is should G2 be connected in the diagram?  Or was my reflowing responsible for the fix?

    Cheers,  Tom

G2 MUST be connected. And you are correct, the 3PDT board does NOT have a G2 connection. It does not need one. G2 is simply an isolated ground plane on the main PCB to help prevent LFO ‘ticking” in the audio signal.

So, you’ve done well to connect G2 and adjust the JFET bias trimmer to set the chorus clock timing and get the effect to work.
