My Apollo Tremolo distorts when engaged. The 10k Gain trimpot does not affect anything when adjusted. I swapped out the trimpot for another and had the same issue. Everything else works as it is supposed to.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I added a 2-Knob Job for variable tremolo speeds and it works without issue. All component values/etc are accurate. I used an authentic NSL-32.</p>

Are you sure it does not effect the gain to any degree? (All it really does is establish the unity gain level. If you want more gain out that specific pot/trimmer, increase the value to ≥100K. [NOTE: increasing that gain value can introduce distortion.]) Otherwise, got any good, clear close-up photos of the PCB showing both sides and all connections?

Did you find the problem? If so, what was it please?

For some unknown reason, I had apparently soldered the legs of C2 to IC2 when I built it. I clipped the legs off and the distortion disappeared. The solder pads were in really bad shape, as I must have used an incorrect value at C2 and was impatient in removing the wrong cap. I built this pedal several years ago and never really used it. I had to clean up a few other things in there but now it seems to work fine. Thanks for checking in!
