Apollo Tremolo – Buffer but No Tremolo Effekt

Hey Guys✌?

I have some Problems with my build of the Apollo tremolo.

The Buffer works Well also the Main Switch Turns the effect on and Off how ist should and the 2 Others switches Turn on ist Lights . The gain knob works also fine. The Deph knob Turns the Signal of when i Move it to the right Side (i think ist Mix between buffered Signal and Tremolo Signal, Tremolo Side ist quiet).. Speed/Spacing/smooth Wont effect the Signal at all

The indication LED is switching from Green to Red but ist Constantly on, No Blinking at all….

The Thing is, i had this Problem before and i fixed it by changing a Bad Deph  Knop , with the new Deph Pot everything works untill i Put everything in an encloser

I Double Check every solder Connection desolder and Checked every Potentiometer  and can Not find any mistake

Here are some Pictures of my build and the messurments from IC 1/2 (i used NE5532 P, Klaus from Musikding.de says thay should Work Well)

Just to understand fully it works as it should until you put it in your enclosure is that correct? If not,

Your IC2 voltages are a bit off check your voltages either side of R5 the spacing pot fully CCW (turned down) should also get 7.7v to pin 2

Here are voltages from a working unit power supply 9.38v

I’d perhaps reflow those joints where you can see you’ve snipped the tops off whilst removing component legs R5 and 6 you can see the bottom joints are like that

Yes it worked perfectly untill i Put it in its Box :/

OK i reflow every solderpoint, but still No effect.

When Spacing + smooth are turned down i can notice a slight Blinking from the LED but only when the effect ist Turner of (Green LED) in active Mode i can’t See any blinking

8,9v from DC Power supply

R5= 6,7V Top;. 8,9V bottomRR10

6,9v Top; 8,9 v bottom

New values from ic2

Spacing Turn down/ all Others on Mid Position:

I also messour the voltage at the Optocopler

I can’t really see how you have your S4, 5 and 6 pads wired that may be the cause of your non blinking LED it sounds like it may not be grounding correctly

I’m still a little confused so just to be absolutely clear

Currently in or out of the box it doesn’t work

It did work except for your LED not blinking when you changed the depth pot, check nothing can short on the bare metal enclosure and you haven’t accidentally pulled a wire loose I’ve assumed your LFO works but

To check the LFO is still working with the speed pot at minimum IC2 pins should fluctuate between around 2.2v to 6v, set at maximum around 3.7 to 3.74v except pins 4 and 8 ground and power

I have had something like this happen before and it was due to wiring that was stressed or broken as well as a bad solder joint. I did not even realize till the wire got crippled and was about to fall off. I always make sure I put the wiring in far enough to place the pvc flush with the edge of the board and that has not happened since although I still always check that out of habit when trouble shooting.

While this one small section may not be your exact problem it is an example of what I am talking about below.

I would check all of board wiring and grounds again and tidy up any suspicious sections.

I had a very similar problem on a Lune based pedal I built (Aion Luna). After much head scratching I realized I’d bought and installed B500R pots instead of B500K. I see a B500k in one pic so you prob have the right ones, but it’s worth checking. And if there’s a short or a miswired or bad pot anywhere in the trem side it could cause this issue.
