GuestI get a volume jump when I click it on. What’s odd is that with the volume know turned completely down I get the jump. It works like it should when I turn clockwise. While I’ve had volume jumps before a bit I’ve never had one where the volume knob is totally down and I still get volume.
Any thoughts off hand?

BarryKeymasterAn incorrect resistor value, cold joint, or solder bridge?
You have to look at it as “whatever could have possibly gone wrong that is not due to the design of the circuit.”
An audio probe would be very handy to trace the circuit to the point where a volume jump occurs identifying where to look.

BillyModeratorUnfortunately it could be anywhere in the circuit, post a nice clear in focus image of your pcb so we can clearly see the component values, orientation and offboard wiring
I know I’ve checked faulty builds visually numerous times and still missed incorrect values etc
If you don’t know resistor values by colour band use this to check them

GuestThe VOL pot on the ADD-VERB works differently than most VOL pots. Most circuits use a VOL pot that is wired as a voltage divider so that at full CCW rotation, it completely cuts the volume off.
The ADD-VERB VOL pot is wired into the feedback loop of IC1B. It changes the GAIN of IC1B and is not intended to completely turn the volume off.
You can adjust this further by changing the value of R7. A lower value will make the volume lower at full CCW.
You may have an incorrect resistor value somewhere in the circuit that is making this noticeable. I hope this helps.

GuestAh, great info on the volume pot. Ok so that is normal which is good. I’ll double check my resistor values. It’s not a deal killer as I just play at home but if I can tame it I’m all for it. Worst case is I’ll socket R7 and find a happy place.
Thanks to all but I’ll report back.

GuestDid you find a solution for this at all? I have the same issue with an Add-verb I just built and very odd volume pot behavior (on top of a bad input clipping problem). Would love to know how you went with it.
