GuestHey guys is there a build document to do the Ratt Deluxe sans “Deluxe” option? Just a standard build??
Thanks!

GuestYou can build this version without the Ruetz Mod and eliminate the SW1 and SW2 switching. In that case, you would use clipping diodes only in D1 and D2. But, to make it as original as possible, you would also need to change other component values. I Googled an original schematic that showed many values that varied slightly. Compare the two schematics.
Unless you built 2 RATTs using one as original stock values and a second one built stock as the V4 with all of its switching options, you will never know which one/settings sounded better to you. Your choice.

Guest220n = .22uF 100pF = .1nF = .0001uF
Check out the handy GPCB Capacitor Chart here:

Guestyou’re seeing different units of the same values. like kilometers to meters but in microfarad (uF), nano-farad (n), pico-farad (p), etc. i use this utility to double-check my conversion … http://www.unit-conversion.info/capacitance.html

BarryKeymasterI also am sending out postcards currently with orders that has this conversion table + codes on the back.

GuestHey Guys one more question. What am I looking for when searching for the SPDT on-off switch and the SPST switch..? Can you provide a link for each for example perhaps?
Thanks!

GuestIt seems you have missed a lot of good information. Go to The Guides Page and scroll down to the the Beginner’s Guide to Components. When you scroll down through that listing you will find a detailed explanation of switches.

GuestHey fellas,
Me again. I finished the build it sounds great. I had an enclosure laying around that I’m using temporarily but wanted to ask what size enclosure is recommended for the Ratt Deluxe? Looks like a lot of folks on the forum are using what looks like a 125B??? Any reccomendations?
Thanks,
MC

SteveModeratorI put mine in a 125b enclosure… see attached photo for a gut shot.
The 125b to me is perfect because you are not cramped for space.

GuestWhile we are talking about this, can someone show me a picture of how the old LM308 can sits in 8 Dip socket?
Greatly appreciated.

mybudModeratorThere’s info on this over (LM308 can to 8pin dip socket) at Beavis Audio.
Look for 4 knob Ratt.
