So I’m planning a dual phase 90 build. I would like the capability of having a dry blend. So I’m looking at either the blend n buff or the Paramix. To add another layer of complication I’m adding a switch to run the two phase 90s in series or in parallel. The series/parallel function and mixing it back to a dry blend knob have me concerned about phase cancellation issues. The phase 90 is a phase inverting pedal, but having two phase inverting pedals in series or parallel shouldn’t give me any issues with a blend pot as long as I have a stage 3 before the blend to invert the phase back… right?

If I use the blend n buff I would run a stage 3 in the loop after both 90s to invert the phase. Since phase 90s invert the phase I would want to have the stage 3 to invert it back before the blend to avoid phase cancellation correct?

Next question assuming I’m running the blend and buff. Would I have a phase problem switching two 90s in the loop from series to parallel? Or would that make no difference as long as I still have the stage 3 at the end?

Next idea use a Paramix. If I use the Paramix I could put one phase 90 in each of the loops and then have a perfect parallel mix correct?

However my understanding of that is I would have no way of running them in series so therefore I need to run both 90s in one of the loops and set up the series/parallel switching inside the loop and then have it mix with the dry signal and the Paramix will take care of any phase cancellation issues.

My next concern is the para mix has three knobs and a phase switch, it’s very busy. I was really just wanting a one knob blend control. I’m not sure I 100% understand the paramix control functions. The phase switch I can just internally jumper to whatever setting is needed. So my understanding of the knobs is because the paramix is a true mix, I’m not really blending the signal, therefore the knob “dry” is technically a dry volume? And “wet” is wet volume? I do not understand the “dry gain” control at all. Is it a boost? Maybe I missed it in the build doc, but I’m very confused on the controls. Is there a way to set up the paramix with just one blend knob?

Sorry for the long read! I appreciate any response! Thanks!
