InactiveI am getting no effect output whatsoever. I’m fairly certain everything on the pcb is soldered correctly and in the right place. I am most suspicious of the wiring of components but can’t figure out what I did wrong. Can anybody tell from my photo if there are any obvious errors? Thanks.

BillyModeratorMake sure your I and O wires go to the jack tips and not the ring connection just insert a jack and follow the connections round to their solder lugs

ChuckParticipantI’ll seconds Billy’s advice to check the I and O jack connections. It looks like you have two red wires connected to the 9V holes at the top of the board – one is from the 3PDT board – where is that other one coming from/going to? Don’t know if it is killer or not but D3 doesn’t look like a 1N34 – granted not all 1N34’s look alike, but yours looks a lot like a 1N4148.

InactiveDefinitely have the tip wired correctly- double checked as you suggested. The 2nd 9v wire from the main board goes to the power supply + Not sure how to tell about the diode.

InactiveAny other ideas? Is it okay that the ground wires from the jacks go to the 3PDT board instead of the main board? As of right now I have an $80 paperweight.

Guestcheck your resistor placement and values here;

CybercowParticipantfig – R31 is just the CLR for the onboard bypass LED indicator. The OP is using an off-board LED indicator, so R31 is not needed here.

CybercowParticipantPaul Rau – Yes, the I/O ground points need not be used, BUT . . . . . does the main PCB have any ground wire connected to ground? It MUST be grounded. I can’t tell by the photos because of the obscure angle.

InactiveIt is grounded to the 9v plug and also to the ground point on the small board

BillyModeratorWhat voltage do you get to the swah pcb +9v and gnd pads
Take voltage readings on the IC and transistor pins, that may indicate your problem area
Q1 D G S Q2 and 3 C B E and all IC pins
Have you verified all component values are correct and orientated correctly it is fairly difficult to see your picture using my phone at work

GuestR28 calls for 100Ω but that looks like a 100kΩ. It could be my eyes though.
They’ll get you fixed up Paul!

InactiveI believe you are correct! I’ll try swapping that resistor out and see what happens. Thank you.

InactiveThank you fig- it works great now. I would have never found that. Much appreciated.

GuestCool! Sorry I wasn’t real clear the first time. I had a gut shot of my build comparing to to yours and saw that, but didn’t have the build doc in front of me. They’d have found it for sure, but glad I could help.
